Specie decisamente invasiva, apparentemente non ha nemici naturali che ne limitino la proliferazione. Specialmente negli ultimi cinque anni la presenza di questo Anellidae è cresciuta con tassi di crescita davvero preoccupanti. E' possibile incontrarla mentre preda moltissime specie. Può costituire, con le sue spicole calcaree, dolorosissime se inflitte su un incauto bagnante, un pericolo anche per l'uomo. La terza foto immortala un esemplare mentre si ciba succhiando, letteralmente, parte del suo cibo. |

Especially in the last five years the presence of this Anellidae has grown with really worrying growth rates. It is possible to meet it while it preys on many species. With its calcareous spicules, which are very painful if inflicted on an unwary bather, it can also constitute a danger for humans. The third photo immortalizes a specimen while it feeds by literally sucking part of its food. |
